The Technion

Located in the northern port city of Haifa, the Technion rests on a 300-acre campus containing some 100 major buildings. The university’s 19 faculties and 40 research centers and institutes, and its nine multidisciplinary centers of excellence offer undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students a chance to pursue world-class research in science, engineering, medicine, industrial management, architecture, and education.

A full time faculty of 700 collaborate with leading scientists worldwide and participate in international research projects. Visiting academics and some 400 overseas graduate students also contribute to the campus’ truly international flavor.

Paving the way from the laboratory to the marketplace, the Technion’s Research and Development Foundation has established 53 spin-off subsidiaries to date. The Technion is also a leader in the National Industry-University Consortia Program and a major partner in eight consortia.

Since its inception, the Technion has graduated some 40,000 engineers, scientists, physicians and architects. Three-quarters of the managing directors of Israel’s high-tech firms hold Technion degrees, and alumni fill key position in government, academia and defense.
